Romans 6:1-14

Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ

1.....We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

This verse is so unbelieveably true. By giving our lives to God through Christ, we become dead to sin. Not untouchable or untemptable, but dead to it. Sin no longer controls our lives. Sure, we are going to sin, thats part of being unperfect. But because of Christ, we no longer have to dwell in our sin. We are forgiven if we want to be. Satan no longer has rule over our lives, although he's going to try his hardest. We will still be tempted, but that temptation has no true merit because we have Jesus Christ. He saved us from the dead life our sin brings with it.

4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.

14 For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

With Christ comes life. Eternal life. That's the greatest gift of all. We can be alive. Alive in Christ.
